My Journey: Life After Divorce;

After my divorce was finalized, I was laid off from work. Fortunately, I was able to find another job shortly afterward. About four months into this job, I noticed I was losing a bunch of weight; I thought it was because I was not eating during the work hours. That would have been fine, but I had lost 20 pounds in three weeks. I did not weigh that much, to begin with. I think I was around 135 pounds. About the fourth week, I noticed that around my belt area was starting to hurt. I went to the doctors to see what was going on. They had found that I had a mass growing in my abdomen. They did all the necessary tests to find out what the mass was. They were not sure what it was, so they referred me to a specialist. When I went to see the specialist, he had me do a CT scan and found out that the mass was taking over my lower abdomen area. So, three months later, I had the mass removed. When I was recovering, I asked the doctor how big the mass was. He said, "It was about 10 pounds and 19cm long." I said, "Wow, that is about the size of a newborn baby." Now, when I tell that story, I tell people that I gave birth to a 10-pound 19cm bouncing baby mass. Oh, by the way, I named it Goerge. lol

While I was recovering, I had the house to myself for most of the day. I had fallen back into going into my mom's dresser and getting her underwear. At this point, I knew what transgender was. I just didn't quite put it to my situation. I just thought I was a crossdresser and liked the feel of women's underwear and clothes. Yes, if you are thinking, "I thought you said you were a girl at the age of 11." That thought was still creeping around in my mind. I just was not putting two and two together and coming up with the light over my head saying, "Hey, you are transgender." That didn't hit me for many years to come.
